Happy Belated Birthday Rhett

Well. . . . better late than never, right? . . .

Rhett turned the big 1 on June 10. We probably didn't make as big of a deal as we should have (and definitely not as big of a deal as with Annie and Carson, but Rhett is the youngest and we might as well earn the complaining he'll undoubtedly do one day for not caring as much about his milestones as we did the older kids).

Here he is stuffing his face with frosting.
This is how he feeds himself every day.

Rhett has been such a joy in our family. From the moment he was born, he's been the sweetest, most calm, chubbiest cutie pie with a big smile you ever did see. I am absolutely smitten with this wee fellow. He isn't walking yet, which is a very sore topic with me because he weighs a billion pounds! And I'm sick of carrying him, to be honest with you! And although he has not yet reached his first-step milestone, he HAS accomplished much during his first year: he has eaten sand, fallen off my bed, ridden a horse with his dad, crawled up and down the stairs several times, pushed 5 pointy teeth through his sore little gums, whizzed through the air cross-country twice courtesy of American Airlines, soiled countless diapers, snored--yes, you are reading that right, ridden Jack the dog, logged probably hundreds of hours sucking his thumb, gone sledding, plunked on a piano, had his first Dr. Pepper, visited far-off and exotic places like Logan UT, Provo UT, Park City UT, Wal-mart, Costco, and Gold's Gym. He has consumed many many many bananas, bottles of milk, and jars of pears. He has destroyed several castles, roads, and train tracks. He has played in both flushed and unflushed toilets. He has chased a dog. He has danced to the microwave beeper, the piano, the theme song of the Office, and yes, even a TV Auctioneer. He has stuffed his mouth with rocks, eaten dog food, and flirted shamelessly with strangers. He is well-rounded in both activities and stature.

And he has won the hearts of the Droubays.

Happy Belated Birthday
my tiny Rhett-ly!
